Case Study

ABB/CS ENERGY

Project Target: Emergency Replacement Transformer
Origin: Bangkok, Thailand
Destination: Kogan Creek Power Station, Chinchilla, Queensland

Scope of WorkTGI often get enquiries from their clients for work which requires the entire team going that extra mile . December 26 was just one of those occasions. Whilst Santa was heading home and taking a well earned rest the TGI team was busy putting together the final touches for the imminent arrival of a 60 tonne transformer from Bangkok to Brisbane. The job required TGI attend the loading in Thailand and supervise the road transport section up to the airport.
As with any job of this size a lot of planning had to go into place. TGI had to attend a number of operational meetings as well as arrange for trucking, cranes and skating onto the plinth at Kogan Creek. Our client was very clear in their requirements and TGI was able to meet and exceed their request. With our team on the ground in both Bangkok and Brisbane the job went off without a hitch.
The aircraft touched down at 1500 hours on Boxing Day and operations commenced 1 hour after Australian Customs and Quarantine had completed their tasks. TGI monitored the whole process from end to end.

TGI was proud to have been selected for this job after a rigorous and thorough selection process by both CS Energy and ABB.

TIMEFRAME: 48 Hours
RESULT: Successful Delivery and Installation of Transformer
