Air Charters for the Queensland State Government

Project Target: Assist in Northern Queensland Flood Relief Feb 2009
Origin Country: Australia

Scope of Work – Rapid response on behalf of the Qld Govt in collaboration with Emergency Management Queensland and Man Roads for the supply of air charters in flood affected areas of Northern Qld.

Within 30 minutes of receiving an initial call TGI had mobilized aircraft suitable for operating out of Cairns and Townsville into the town of Normanton. Urgent supplies of Food Perishables, Aviation Fuel and Oxygen Cylinders were needed in and around Normanton due to the area being cut off from heavy floods.

Our personnel coordinated all ground operations and flight schedules whilst keeping the relevant key members of staff from EMQ up to date on an hourly basis. A total of 19 rotations were successfully completed with payloads on average being 6 tonnes.

TIMEFRAME – 8 Days
RESULT – All payloads delivered to Normanton / Cairns successfully
