Case Study

Santos GLNG

In May 2012 Townley Group International was awarded the transport , customs clearance and expediting contract for the Saipem, Santos GLNG Project.

In the initial start up phase TGI supplied 24 road trains along with 4 staff to get the project underway. As the project increased so did the workload, and at its peak the project was running 58 road trains per day and carrying around 600 pipes per day between the main stockpile at Port Alma and Lot 300 to the various Right of Ways along the pipe line.

TGI was also awarded the ROW contract for the transport of the pipe along the right of way. TGI has worked closely with Saipem to expedite the project and has been successful in bringing the project ahead by three months with our accurate planning and management of the pipes from laydown to stockpiles.

TGI worked closely with DTMR and other agencies to ensure that the state regulations for heavy transport were met and in many cases exceeded expectations of the relevant agencies. We also worked with Saipem`s environmental branch to ensure that all environmental standards were met for truck movement in out of the Arcadia Valley area.

TGI would like to thank all it contractors and staff for their ongoing commitment to the project and to help the project be a huge success. There is still many long days ahead but TGI is ready for the road ahead.
